This crystal is a beautiful example of the complexity of mineral formation.
Smoky Garden Rutile with Natural Flat Base. Inside the piece are lodolite inclusions, commonly referred to as garden inclusions, which are typically made up of chlorite, hematite, feldspar, or other fine-grained minerals that settled during the crystal’s formation.
Threading through this garden are sand-colored rutile needles. These particular rutile inclusions are a variety of titanium dioxide with a warm, beige tone. Unlike the more common golden or red rutiles, this pale rutile gives the piece a delicate, organic feel, like fossilized seagrasses.
And finally - this stunning piece is filled with internal rainbows. Several of them show up in both natural and indoor lighting.
The combination of garden inclusions, pale rutile, and rainbows within smoky quartz is exceptionally uncommon, making this sphere a true collector’s piece.
